Our Fusion Staff
The Fusion staff members and coaches are experienced, proven instructors that love to work with children of all ages.  We at Fusion Gymnastics want to get to know you and your child.  Providing opportunities for you get to know us is our priority. We are proud of our coaches and support staff and our commitment to building positive partnerships with the families we serve.

Below you will find bios of our owner, coaches, and support staff.
Heather Stevens (Owner) – grew up in the country in Mount Summit, Indiana, which is just north of New Castle. She began her gymnastics career when her parents thought she had too much energy. At age 4, she started taking classes at Gymnastics Junction. She then moved to the competitive team under the instruction of Holly Kollmeyer. She started competing at 6 years old and continued until she graduated from high school at age 18. While competing, she earned many state championship titles, traveled to Massachusetts for Nationals where she placed 10th on Vault, 5th on Floor, and 14th in All-Around, and competed at AAU Nationals in North Carolina where she placed 6th on Vault, 11th on Floor, and 14th in All-Around, achieved Level 10, and won the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award her senior year for high school gymnastics.

After graduating high school in 2000, she moved to Indianapolis where she attended the University of Indianapolis majoring in Exercise Science/Physical Education. While in college, she wanted to share her gymnastics knowledge so she began working at Hoosier Gymnastics Training Center, in August of 2000, where she taught various classes and all levels of team until April 2005. She also obtained her judging license to become a certified USAG Judge for Level 4, 5, & 6.

Cami Lain (Coach) - grew up in Hobart, Indiana (Northwest Indiana).  She began gymnastics at age 3 at the local YMCA.  After a few years, she began competing for a private club in the area.  Cami continued to compete until she graduated high school.  While competing, she also taught preschool gymnastics for one of her high school coaches.  She also competed in power tumbling, where she finished second at Nationals, and her team finished first.

After high school, Cami attended Indiana University and graduated with a BS in elementary education.  During the school-year, Cami teaches sixth grade at a local middle school.  In 2007, she began teaching gymnastics classes at Fusion.

Brittany Risch (Coach) - started gymnastics when she was five.  Within a few years, she began competing.  Her successful competition committment led to cheerleading.  Once in Middle School, Brittany started to cheer.  She began competitive cheerleading through her school years.  Brittany has been at Fusion since May 2007.  She is currently teaching recreational classes and preteam.
Emily Lyford (Coach) - currently attends Plainfield High School.  She will be attending the University of Indianapolis and major in nursing.  She has been competing in gymnastics for sixteen years.  She has been a competitive member of the Fusion Team for several years and wished to give back to the younger generation of future Fusion gymnasts and continue to support the sport that she loves.  She joined the Fusion coaching staff in 2009.




Cameron Shank (Coach) - began gymnastics at the age of six.  He competed for seven years as a Level 9 champion gymnast.  In 2005, he was the Indiana State Champion.  He qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals in 2006.  In late 2006, he came to Fusion to train.  In 2007, he committed to sharing his championship abilities with the children at Fusion.  He coaches boys classes, school-age classes, and recreational classes at Fusion.

Cathy Jones - started working at he front desk at Fusion in May of 2007.  Cathy also sells insurance in Brownsburg.  Cathy's daughter participates on the Fusion Team.  This allows Cathy to be an active participant and supporter of her gymnastics and Fusion's efforts to serve the children that attend.
Jill Truax - lives in Crawfordsville. She started with the Fusion family in May of 2010. Jill and her husband own and operate a computer consulting company. Jill is an office manager for their company. She is also a Licensed Practical Nurse. Jill's two daughters are both on the Fusion Gymnastics Team.

Christa Dixon (Coach) - grew up in Indianapolis and has lived in Brownsburg for eight years.  Christa was introduced to gymnastics at the age of seven.  She started in tumbling classes at her local community center and participated in recreational classes at various gyms throughout childhood.  She competed on her high school gymnastics team.  Christa started coaching gymnastics, tumbling, and dance while attending IUPUI.  She is currently coaching the pre-team gymnasts and some recreational classes.  Christa's daughter is training at Fusion.
