At age 4, she started taking classes at Gymnastics Junction. She then moved to the competitive team under the instruction of Holly Kollmeyer. She started competing at 6 years old and continued until she graduated from high school at age 18. After graduating high school in 2000, she moved to Indianapolis where she attended the University of Indianapolis majoring in Exercise Science/Physical Education. While in college, she wanted to share her gymnastics knowledge so she began working at Hoosier Gymnastics Training Center, in August of 2000, where she taught various classes and all levels of team until April 2005. She also obtained her judging license to become a certified USAG Judge for Level 4, 5, & 6.
